What We Do

MISSION STATEMENT: Driving superior outcomes for state and federal government workforces.

Our company has designed and delivered leadership and instructor development classes since 2016, serving clients in both the public and private sectors. We have extensive experience working with aspiring leaders as well as those more experienced formal leaders. Our classes help them make the transition to effective formal and informal leaders. Common challenges our programs address include:

  • Developing high level communication skills
  • Building confidence in decision-making under pressure
  • Managing interpersonal conflicts within diverse teams
  • Developing skills to coach and mentor peers
  • Shifting from a task-based approach to leadership to strategic thinking

For example, our Leadership for Front Line Supervisors course has been used with aspiring, as well as, current front line supervisors throughout the country including supervisors from the local, state, and federal personnel. During our courses, there is a measurable improvement in morale, participation, and confidence that one person can make a difference. This has resulted in supervisors who concentrate on making those around them better and more accountable to the organization.

Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team certified provider.

We can deliver off-the-shelf and/or custom leadership development programs for all types of public and private sector employees.

  • Conflict Management- Roleplay-based training in mediation and de-escalation (custom course based on your specific needs).
  • Developing Others- With our off-the-shelf leadership classes, instructor development workshops, and fully customizable classes, we provide coaching skills, self-reflection tools, and self-confidence to develop each student to their full potential.
  • Executive Judgement and Decision Making– A leader’s legacy is made in an instant. Through scenarios and conversations on real-life events, we provide students with the tools and self-confidence to make a decision and stand by it.
  • Problem-Solving- Problems are resolved long-term when the root cause of behavior is identified. Our classes teach students common models to go beyond immediate symptoms and identify systemic issues to prevent recurrences.
  • Change Management- Our classes instruct students on how to lead through change and transitions. For example, WLS has specialized coursework in Leading through a Crisis.
  • Interpersonal Skills and Communication- Clear and concise communications are essential to any profession. Through emotional intelligence and basic communication skills in a multi-cultural environment, students leave with a better understanding of the communication process, their communication style, and how this may affect those around them. We also incorporate topics such as resilience, team cohesion, and adaptive leadership.

Engagement, Interactivity, and Application

Each class ensures a high degree of involvement through scenario-based learning, facilitated discussions, peer feedback, and problem-solving exercises. Every session involves direct workplace application exercises and participant-led case studies.

Instructional Materials

We will provide comprehensive participant guides, presentation slides, self-assessment tools, and recommended reading lists. If any virtual or hybrid courses are requested, all materials will be available in downloadable format.

Pre-Work, Post-Work, and Follow-Up Activities

Programs can include pre-work such as leadership style assessments and reflection prompts. Post-work may involve action plans, peer coaching assignments, and follow-up virtual check-ins to reinforce learning and track progress.

Measuring Effectiveness

We evaluate training across four levels—participant feedback, knowledge and skill gains, behavioral changes, and organizational impact. 360 leadership assessments can be a valuable tool as well and WLS can facilitate these if requested by organizational leadership.
